An eco-friendly boutique hotel in the heart of Lakeside Hotel Karuna is a small, family-run boutique hotel in central Lakeside, just a short walk from Phewa Lake and Pokhara’s favorite cafés, restaurants, and shops. We offer 24 clean, bright, and comfortable rooms with views of the Pokhara valley, Lakeside community, World Peace Pagoda, and Phewa Lake. Deluxe rooms include private balconies, some with views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare Mountains. Family rooms with bunk beds are ideal for those traveling with children. Breakfast — included with every stay Breakfast at Karuna is something we are especially proud of. Our vegetarian buffet blends Nepali and international flavors: fresh fruit, house-made muesli, yogurt, sprouts, hummus, seasonal vegetables, eggs made to order, local tarkari, fresh juices, and our much-loved Sel Roti special on Saturdays. We also offer gluten-free and dairy-free options. We serve hand-brewed, locally grown organic pour-over coffee alongside a curated selection of local teas and herbal infusions. Mornings here are relaxed, nourishing, and a beautiful way to begin your day in Pokhara. Rooftop garden & quiet spaces Our courtyard garden offers a calm place to unwind, while sunrise and sunset are best enjoyed from the rooftop. Surrounded by plants and prayer flags, the rooftop provides shaded seating, mountain views, and space for yoga or quiet reflection above the city. Located just off the main road, Karuna offers a central yet peaceful base. Appy Hour @ Karuna Each afternoon from 4–6pm, guests gather in our lobby lounge for Appy Hour — a relaxed chance to enjoy local street-food inspired bites like pani puri and dahi puri, prepared fresh and tailored to your spice preference. It’s a social space to connect, and 100% of profits are donated to a trusted local charity. Owned with heart Hotel Karuna is owned and operated by a cross-cultural family — Nepalese Nim Magar and his Canadian wife Kelly, affectionately known as “Bhauju.” We love sharing local insight and helping guests make the most of their time — whether trekking, adventuring, or simply slowing down.
